Section Councils play a pivotal role at the RSM and reply on our members’ active engagement.

If you are interested in joining the Section Council, you are required to complete an application form. The RSM encourages applications from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.  

Those eligible to join this section must hold a first or higher degree in a relevant discipline such as medicine, dentistry or fields related to psychology and be employed in, or retired from, a health-related field such as medicine, psychology, dentistry or nursing.

Applications are invited from those registered with, for example, the BABCP, GMC, GDC, NMC, HCPC and university-based academics.The Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine Section is a constituent society of the European Society of Hypnosis. We support and endorse its Ethical Guidelines, and which all applications for membership of the Section will need to abide by.

In addition, you will be asked supply a CV via email of no more than three pages in MS Word format; your CV should include your name at the top, but must not include any contact details or any other personal details such as date of birth, gender etc.

After submitting your request, the RSM will get in touch to inform you on the status of your application. The duration for this process may vary, depending on the Council's upcoming meetings to review applications. Your contact information will be shared with Council representatives, who may contact you for further discussion. By completing this application, you consent to the sharing of your contact details with Council members.
